The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Developement, Sadiya Umar Farouq, stated today during an interview with TVC News that the first Batch will be exiting the program by June/July, 2020. She made it known that their exit plan would have been concluded during this period.
While speaking about the commitment of the Federal Government for the program and much ahead, she urged the volunteers to focus on the discharge of their duties and shun any action that will not reflect their appreciation for what the Federal Government is doing for them.
Earlier before today, the volunteers have mapped out strategies to enforce a strike action that would signal to the Government their displeasure over the continuous delay of their stipends.
The Minister urged the volunteers to remain calm as their stipend delay was caused by some administrative proceedures which are being sorted out. She stated that everyone would be paid and encouraged the volunteers to continue in the discharge of their duties.
