Beneficiaries of the life-lifting N-power program, one of the Social Investment Programs (SIP) of the Buhari Administration, have thronged social media to profuse their accolades for the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Job Creation and Youth Employment, Afolabi Imoukhuede.
This is coming after Afolabi has granted a first-of-the-year live facebook chat with the N-power volunteers on Wednesday 4th March, 2020. In his words during the live chat, he apologised to the volunteers for the reoccurring delays in payment of volunteers stipends as witnessed in October/November, 2019 and January, 2020. He vehemently assured the graduate N-power beneficiaries that their February stipends would be paid within the week while the non-graduates January Stipends would be paid this week and February, next week.
Joy filled the air on Friday evening when the volunteers screamed in astoundment and accolades for Mr Afolabi abiding by his words. Abax Salix, a facebook user and one of the N-power beneficiaries wrote:
"Mr Afolabi is a man of his words. Thank you Sir. You put a smile on our faces today."
In fervent replies to his post, Lulu Ozoc wrote:
"Bring back our man, we no need disaster again"
Adeola Ariyo Adetoro relied:
"Mr Afolabi you tried. We thank God."
The Minister for Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Developemt, Sadiya Umar Farouk, has late last week apologised for the delays in payment of Stipends emphasizing that it was due to the ministry being newly established and needed to verify volunteers data, previous payments and much more. She noted that after the completion of the processes, the volunteers would experience no more delays in payment of their stipends.
