Nigeria records 117 Confirmed cases in a day as cases surge above 780


The Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) has announce the COVID-19 explosive 117 new Confirmed Cases in a day, bringing the total number of Confirmed cases in Nigeria to 782.

The Agency noted that as at 11:10pm 21st April, 59 cases were reported in Lagos, 29 in FCT, 14 in Kano, 6 in Borno, 4 in Katsina, 3 in Ogun, 1 in Rivers and 1 in Bauchi.

NCDC has also announced the discharge of 9 new recovered victims of the COVID-19 pandemic and 3 new deaths bringing total number of recoveries and deaths to 197 and 25 respectively.

      According to NCDC, the 9 New recoveries were reported in Lagos while the 3 new deaths were reported as 2 in Lagos, 1 in Edo.

      The analysis from the report indicates that Lagos has discharged 106 recovered victims, 35 in Abuja, 18 in Osun, 7 in Edo, 5 in Oyo, 5 in Ogun, 4 in Kaduna, 3 in Akwaibom, 2 in Ekiti, 2 in Rivers, 2 in Enugu, 2 in Rivers, 2 in Kwara and 5 in Bauchi, 1 in Ondo, 0 in Kano, 0 in Katsina, 0 in Gombe, 0 in Delta, 0 in Borno, 0 in Abia, 0 in Niger, 0 in Jigawa, 0 in Gombe, 0 in Anambra, 0 in Benue and 0 in Sokoto.

      The death toll as reported by NCDC indicates that Lagos has recorded 15 Deaths, 3 in Abuja, 1 in Kano, 1 in Katsina, 2 in Edo, 1 in Delta, 1 in Akwaibom and 1 in Borno bringing the total death toll to 25.

      The statistical report from NCDC also indicates that there are 309 Active cases in Lagos, 80 in FCT, 72 in Kano, 2 in Osun, 11 in Oyo, 6 in Edo, 15 in Ogun, 15 in Katsina, 7 in Kwara, 5 in Akwaibom, 3 in Bauchi, 5 in Kaduna, 3 in Delta, 2 in Ondo, 2 in Ekiti, 0 in Enugu, 1 in Rivers,  2 in Niger, 2 in Jigawa, 1 in Benue, 1 in Anambra, 8 in Borno, 5 in Gombe, 2 in Abia and 1 in Sokoto.
