How to link your NIN to SIM Cards in easy steps

In line with the Federal Government's directive that telecommunications operators (MTN, Glo, Airtel, 9Mobile and others) in the country should within two weeks link all SIM Cards with National Identity Number (NIN) or face blocking of SIMs, here are easy step to link your MTN lines with your NIN.

1. Open https://mtnonline.com/nim/

2. Enter your First Name, Last Name and Middle Name

3. Enter the MTN Phone Number you want to link.

4. Enter your National Identity Number.

You can dial *346# to retrieve your NIN through the Phone Number used during NIN registration.

Don't have NIN? You can do so conveniently by starting the process online here; http://nimc.gov.ng. Then visit a nearest enrollment centre to complete the registration. See the centres across Nigeria; https://www3.nimc.gov.ng/nimc-enrolment-centres/… ENROLLMENT IS FREE!"

5. Enter Email address and Submit

6. An OTP (One Time Password) will be sent to the Phone line. Enter the OTP in the Next page.

Note: the above processes is to be repeated if you have more than one MTN SIM Card.

MTN however warns that this processes is solely for the purpose of collating NIN pending when verification of the submitted NIN is completed through NCC/NIMC adding that the status of the NIN submitted is unverified; which means that you might be required to visit again for verification/validation based on outcome of the verification exercise.
