The Artisan/Transport Supports is a component of the laudable initiative of the Federal Government which assures payment of a one time Grant of N30,000 to N50,000 to Nigerians in the Transport sector, to cushion the effect COVID-19 Pandemic on the sector.
The registration for the Transport sector has commenced but as earlier stated, not through the application portal https://www.survivalfund.gov.ng as many Nigerians think.

The Project Cordinator and Special Assistant to President Mohammadu Buhari on MSME, Mr Tola Johnson, and the Director General of SMEDAN, Dikko Umaru Radda in separate speeches during a supervisory visit to Apo Mechanic Village, Abuja to oversee the Activation of the Artisans in the area, noted that it was a necessity for the Federal Government to ensure that the process is not only free and fair but also reaches the beneficiaries who are truly in need of it.
Umaru furthered that similar approaches would be employed to other components of the Programme including the Guranteed Offtake Scheme, to ensure that the Grant actually gets to the people.
What this mean is, the Transport Sector has Associations like Keke Riders Association, Okada Riders Association, Union of Bus Riders or as the case may be. Also, the Artisans; Electricians, Tailors, Mechanics etc have their registerd associations through which they can be identified. The Registration is taking place within these identifiable groups.
The above report also states that this measure would be applied in other components of the Program except the Payroll Supports.
This is not a way to deprive the people the ability to participate in the program but to enable the people who are truly in the targetted sector to benefit from it.
