Happening Now: Humanitarian Affairs Ministry set to on-board 5,000 Independent Monitors

The Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development has announced it's  preparedness to on-board 5,000 Independent Monitors who would be engaged to monitor the National Social Investment Programmes (N-SIP) across the 36 States of the Federation plus the Federal Capital Territory. 

Announcing the scheduled event which commences officially today, 18th January, 2021, the Special Assistant to Sadiya Umar Farouk on Media and Publicity, Nneke Ikem Anibueze stated that the 5,000 Independent Monitors would be charged to monitor the Federal Government Social Investment Programmes viz: the N-power Programme, the Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT), the Home Grown School Feeding (HGSF) Programme and the Government Enterprise Empowerment Programme (GEEP).

Mrs Anibueze added that the two weeks intensive workshop and review at the National level is organized by Monitoring and Evaluation Committee setup by the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development to develop a Framework and Data Collection Tool for effective monitoring process.

"Onboarding of Independent Monitors for @NigeriaGov Integrated @NSIP_NG begins tomorrow 18th January, 2020 in the FCT. 5000 #IndependentMonitors will undergo training and orientation in the 36 states and the FCT.

"The two week intensive workshop and review at the National level is organized by Monitoring and Evaluation Committee setup by the @FMHDSD to develop a Framework and Data Collection Tool for effective monitoring process.

"The 5000 trainees will monitor the National @NHGSFP @npower_ng @geep_ng and the Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) Programmes. 13 million individuals across the 36 states of Nigeria and FCT are beneficiaries of @NigeriaGov Social Intervention Programmes," Mrs Anibueze tweeted, Sunday.

The National Social Investment Programme is a laudable initiative of the President Mohammadu Buhari led administration which has impacted over 13 Million Nigerians through various facets of the Programme as the Federal Government remains commited to lifting 100,000 Million Nigerians out from Poverty through it's Social Protection strategies.
