N-power: NYC pledges support for NEXIT Transition, sues for quick action

The N-power Youth Congress has, Saturday, expressed solidarity for the proposed plans of transiting the exited Batch A and B N-power Beneficiaries through the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development/CBN NEXIT Plan.

The group of N-power Beneficiaries led by Joseph Enan Maigari however appealed to the Federal Government to fast-track the implementation of the plan on or before 14th February, 2021 so as to relieve the exited N-power Beneficiaries of the sufferings meted by their disengagement amids COVID-19 Pandemic.

The group also demanded that:

1. N-power Beneficiaries selected for permanent jobs be confirmed with appointment letters.

2. Those selected for grant be given at least 1 million naira each.

3. Those considered for loan be treated fairly. That is,
* 2 years moratorium
* 3% interest rate per annum
* Reasonable amount enough for the respective purposes be given.

4. Those still finding it difficult to register the Nexit Portal should be given attention to that effect.

"Npower Youths Congress in solidarity with the proposed government plans of transiting Npower Batches A&B into a permanent appointment and giving Grant to business startups and loans to already existing businesses, do hereby appeal that swift action be taken to that effect.

"Having considered the number of months we have been left redundant without anything to hold on to, our families and loved once have suffered some setback as a result of our disengagement amidst the dreaded Covid19 pandemic lockdown that has really brought untold hardship to the globe.

"We hereby demand that:
1. Those selected for permanent jobs be confirmed with appointment letters.
2. Those selected for grant be given at least 1 million naira each.
3. Those considered for loan be treated fairly. That is,

* 3% interest rate per annum
* Reasonable amount enough for the respective purposes be given.
4. Those still finding it difficult to register the Nexit Portal should be given attention to that effect.

"We will appreciate if our demands can be met on or before 14th February, 2021 so that we all know our stands and also embark on our various endeavors as we thank the Federal Government for such a wonderful gesture in anticipation.
