The Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) has announced the shortlisting of additional 100 candidate per State for the 2020/2021 Federal Teachers Scheme.
The State Universal Basic Education Boards (SUBEBs) have been officially directed to enlist the candidate from the database of those who had previous applied for the Scheme but were not shortlisted due to limited space.
In a memo specifically directed to the Yobe State Universal Basic Education Board marked UBEC/DTD/FTS/SDG/GC/46, the commission stated that should the State Universal Basic Education Boards decide to include candidates who previously wrote the screening but did not meet the cut off mark, the candidates should also be featured in the Screening examination once again.
The Computer Based Test for the Supplementary Enlistment has been scheduled to hold on the 23rd February, 2021 while the submission of the list of enlisted candidates in each State will end on 15th February, 2021.
In view of the directives, some applicants of the Scheme in 2020 have confirmed to have recieved text messages inviting them for the screening examination. If you did recieve such text, note that it is real.
According to UBEC, the requirements for the screening exam involves the shortlisted candidates appearing in the CBT Center with the following:
1. Original Copy of the Printed Application Form
2. Original Credentials for sighting as well as photocopy for submission at the test centres.
3. Valid Identity Card: National Identity Card, Voter's Card, Drivers' License, International Passport.
4. Face Mask and Hand Sanitisers
UBEC Management had also stressed that lateness to the screening centers would not be tolerated noting that all shortlisted candidates should comply to the COVID-19 Protocols at the centers and also ensure that prohibited items are not brought to the exam centers.
