Radiation of 4G Network is more harmful than 5G

The Honourable Minister for Communication and Digital Economy, Dr Isa Pantami has, Today, dispelled the speculation on the possibilty of the 5G Network radiation being deadly, and purportedly fuelled the Coronavirus pandemic as widely misconstrued.

Dr Pantami delivering his speech at the National Assembly Complex, Abuja, in a 1-day investigative public hearing on the present status of 5G Network in Nigeria and its technological impact on Nigerian Citizens pointed out that the radiation of the 4G technology is more harmful than that of the 5G technology.

The Minister stressed that the development of the 5G Network was to address the inefficiency of the 4G Network just as there have been several technological improvements from 2G to 3G, 3G to 4G and now 5G which are all bent on addressing the limitation of previous technologies.

"The radiation of the 4G that we have here is more harmful than that of 5G. The radiation of the 4G that we have in our phones that we are using here is more harmful than the the 5G we are anticipating.

"The radiation of the Microwave that we use in cooking food in our homes is more harmful than that of the 5G", Dr Pantami stated.

The Honourable Minister furthered that the radiation emitted through the smartphones we are using is even more harmful than that of the 5G Network adding that 5G Network is an advancement of 4G which is aimed at reducing significantly the flaws of the 4G Network.

Dr Pantami also noted that "based on the report from the WHO and ITU, it is clearly stated that there is no link between 5G technology and #COVID19, and also there is no relationship between 5G and any other disease."

Why 5G Network?

CNN stating the big differences between the 4G and 5G network in an edition noted that the major reasons for advancement from 4G to 5G are for increased speed, higher bandwidth (capacity/capability) and lower latency (the time it takes for devices to communicate with each other or with the server that's sending them information).
