The Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development (FMHDS) has stated that preparation for the fulfilment of the Exit package tagged NEXIT, planned for the exited Batch A and B N-power Beneficiaries are in top gear.
The Ministry disclosed this, Sunday, while responding to an enquiry on the Npower verified and official Facebook handle.
The enquiry and many others have followed a recent update by the Handlers of the Npower Social Handle after many weeks of keeping the exited N-power Beneficiaries and Batch C Applicants incommunicado via the Social channels.
Launched on 27th Nov, 2020 soon after the #EndSars Protest to address the plight of the disengaged 500,000 N-power Beneficiaries who had conducted several protests on the streets of Nigeria, especially Abuja, even before the #EndSars Protest, the NEXIT Plan was so designed that:
i) 200,000 beneficiaries will be engaged as financial services operators under the Shared Agent Network Expansion Facility (SANEF)
ii) 30,000 to be engaged beneficiaries as geospatial experts and enumerators in the Economic Sustainability Plan’s Mass Agric programme
iii) others would have the option of benefiting from the Government Enterprise and Empowerment Programme (GEEP) micro-enterprise loans.
During the launch and release of the NEXIT Portal https://nexit-fmhds.cbn.gov.ng, the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development in a statement signed by the Minister's Media Assistant, Mrs Nneka Ikem Anibueze stated "a Portal that will enable Exited N-Power Beneficiaries to apply for Central Bank of Nigeria Empowerment Options has been launched by the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development."
The Ministry encouraged interested Exited Beneficiaries of the N- Power Programme to log on to the portal and provide the required additional information for possible placements into the various CBN intervention options.
As a collaboration between the Humanitarian Affairs Ministry and the Central Bank of Nigeria, the apex bank would oversee the suitability of the participants in accordance with stipulated guidelines to be established by the bank.
While the response invigorates the hope of the exited N-power Beneficiaries, the NEXIT Portal has remained inaccessible since May, 2021 till date.
