NEXIT Loan: Exited N-power Beneficiaries reject training, say it is another delay tactics

The exited Batch A and B beneficiaries of the N-power have reacted to the Training proposed to commence in October which the Federal Government described as a prerequisite for the NEXIT Loan disbursement.

Sadiya Umar Farouk, the Minister for Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development had on Wednesday stated that her Ministry is at the point of training the exited N-power Beneficiaries before the Loan disbursement to the beneficiaries.

Voicing out through various Social Groups, the exited Beneficiaries alleged that that the said training is another delay tactics employed by the Ministry even after 1 year the Federal Government launched the NEXIT Plan.

According to the exited Beneficiaries, "we don't need the training. We are graduates and we have been trained in our various institutions. Also, the 2-4 years experience we have gathered in the course of the Npower programme is enough to enable us start any business." 

The beneficiaries lamented that they could no longer take the Minister by her words as it has been statements and promises without action since after their disengagement in June/July, 2020. 

The exited N-power Beneficiaries berated the Minister for declearing October as the commencement date for the said training without a clear schedule of when it will begin or how long it would last.

"If she mean her words, let her provide answers to the following question:

(1) What are we being trained for?

(2) When is the exact date for the commencement of the Training?

(3) What is the duration of the training?

 (4) What is the exact amount that would be given to each beneficiary after the said training", the exited N-power Beneficiaries queried.

The exited N-power Beneficiaries lamented that even the Backlog Stipends owed to some of the beneficiaries which the Ministry announced it has started paying, has only been shady. 

This and the issues of the NEXIT Loan disbursement spiked a protest which took place in the streets of Abuja on Monday, 20th September, 2020.
