The National Social Investment Management System has announced that it has commenced massive Backlog Payment to the Batch C Stream 1 Npower beneficiaries.
This is a bid to ensure that none of the beneficiaries would be owed after this Payment Cycle, NASIMS assured.
Recall that some beneficiaries of the Batch C1 Npower Programme reported Stipend Payment Issues such as FAILED Payment, Paid but not Credited etc, which were being treated as Backlogs of Payment.
The Payment issues have been sorted and the Backlog Payment has commenced earnestly.
Some beneficiaries of the Batch C Stream 1 Npower Programme have reported that they have recieved backlog Stipend Payment of three Months, and more, since Friday.
The clearance of the Backlog Stipend is to ensure the complete exit of the Batch C Stream 1 Npower beneficiaries which is dated 30th August, 2022.
Speaking on August Stipend Payment to the beneficiaries, NASIMS noted that the August Stipend will be credited soonest , but has kick-started Backlog Clearances.
The August Stipend is the 12/12 Payment to Batch C1 Npower beneficiaries, marking the last Stipend payment in the 12 Months (1year) Npower Programme.
Information from higher Authority in the Government who spoke on the Npower Batch C1 Extention disclosed that due to narrowed economic state of the country, which has been sustained by continuous external borrowings, the Batch C Stream 1 Npower Programme can not be extended.
According to the source, the contract agreement of 12 Months (1 year) remains sacrosanct. This is to pave way for the 490,000 Batch C2 Npower beneficiaries who are already being deployed into their places of Primary Assignment.
The Govermnent Integrated Finanancial Management Information System Server (GIFMIS) needs to be free of Batch C1 payment detail, in order to be fed with the Batch C2 Npower beneficiaries payment details, the source added.
It added that that is the major reason NASIMS has deemed it important to clear the Outstandings, then pay August Stipend uniformly as one and last payment to the Batch C1 Npower beneficiaries.
