As a Batch C1 or Batch C2 Npower beneficiary, by now you could have been worried about Stipend Payment as the Buhari Adminstration including the Minister, Sadiya Umah Farouk prepare to bid farewell.
There is a good news for Batch C1 and C2 Npower beneficiaries, and a major reason why they should not worry about their Stipend Payment.
The good news is that Npower Batch C1 and C2 Stipends were captured in the 2023 Budget, and as such all outstandings Stipends owed to beneficiaries will be paid in full.
As at last week Friday, the federal government has given its approval for the settlement of all outstanding payments owed to the beneficiaries of the National Social Investment Programme (NSIP), including independent monitors.
Hajia Sadiya Umaru Farouq, the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development, made this announcement during the commencement of workshop organised for independent monitors of the NSIP.
She warmly welcomed all beneficiaries to the event, emphasizing its significance in enhancing future program design and implementation.
The minister highlighted that the NSIP is the flagship poverty reduction initiative of President Muhammadu Buhari's administration, comprising four programs aimed at addressing various societal challenges.
These programs include NPower, the Job Creation Programme; the Government Enterprise and Empowerment Programme (GEEP); the Conditional Cash Transfer Programme (CCT); and the National Home-Grown School Feeding Programme.
To ensure the successful execution and maximize the impact of the NSIP, the Ministry has developed a comprehensive Monitoring and Evaluation system. This system operates at three levels: local government, state, and federal.
"At the local government level, we have enlisted the services of 7,500 independent monitors to oversee program monitoring across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory. These independent monitors are responsible for collecting and submitting regular data from the 774 local government areas."
Npower Batch C2 is a one year Programme and fully captured in the 2023 Budget. Even as the current minister prepares to leave Office as the case may be, it does not affect Npower or NSIP in any way as a new Minister will be appointed to head the Ministry.
The Npower Management has announced that payment for Batch C1 and Batch C2 beneficiaries who had filled the Npower Validation Form is ongoing but being sorted in Batches.
All Batch C2 Npower beneficiaries, and Batch C1 are encouraged to remain patient and hopeful as Stipend Payment is on going.
