The National Social Investment Management System (NASIMS) has dismissed the rumour being circulated through the social media, which claimed that Payment of Npower Stipends has been suspended because of change in administration.
The message of mischief titled SUSPENSION IN PAYMENT OF STIPENDS being circulated stated:
"Dear N-Power Batch C (Streams 1 And 2) Beneficiaries, We have received thousands of messages in the past few weeks regarding the suspension in payment of outstanding stipends. We acknowledge your grievances, that you are being owed for the months of December to May.
"We wish to inform you that there was a change in the administration, which partially affected the program. However, there are plans to continue with the payment process, in the new administration's budget.
"We hereby restate our commitment to this program, and we reassure you that every beneficiary will be settled in due time. We urge you to remain patient, while we put things in order. Apologies for the inconveniences. Thanks"
NASIMS on Thursday dismissed the rumour as False, affirming that payment of Outstanding Stipends which was recently initiated 'again' is currently ongoing.
According to NASIMS, "Payment of Batch C2 October, November and December Stipends have been initiated and still on going. Bank Network could be a challenge sometimes, please be patient and wait for the payment to drop".
Recall that NASIMS had on Tuesday commenced another round of Stipend payment to Batch C2 Npower beneficiaries, including the newly engaged Batch C2 Npower beneficiaries, in a bid to ensure that all the beneficiaries are paid completely and brought together on the same page to ease payment challenge and prevent further Backlogs/Outstanding Payments.

The Npower Management however disclosed that Batch C1 Outstanding Stipends of September, October and November have not been initiated 'again'.
NASIMS noted that Batch C1 Outstanding Stipends will be initiated 'again' after October, November and December Stipends would have been paid to Batch C2 Npower beneficiaries including the newly engaged 200,000 Batch Batch C2 Npower beneficiaries.
The Npower Management maintained that its top priority is to ensure that all Batch C2 Npower beneficiaries are paid completely before June 2023 ends.
