Npower: Reasons Why Stipend Payment Delay has Continued

In Today's Latest Npower Stipend News Update, 30th June 2023, we will highlight reasons why Payment of Stipend has continued to delay, and what is expected of Npower beneficiaries, and "Npower Applicants" as things are being sorted. Read on!

It is understandable that anticipation and earganess to receive Stipends has heightened among Npower beneficiaries especially as delay in Payment of the Stipends has deepened lately. However, several issues have bedevilled the intention of the National Social Investment Management System (NASIMS) to pay up Outstanding Stipends as quickly as expected, some of which NASIMS acknowledged the responsibility but some of which were also caused by the beneficiaries and Npower Applicants.

These identified issues are discussed below:

1. Npower Applicants (not yet Shortlisted) Filling Npower Validation Form:

The Npower Validation Form was introduced with the intention of streamlining the verification process and ensuring accurate information from Npower beneficiaries as NASIMS moved Payment of Npower Beneficiaries Stipends away from the NASIMS Portal www.nasims.gov.ng.

The major reason for moving the Stipend Payment away from NASIMS Portal is to ensure that while trying to pay Batch C2 Npower beneficiaries, Batch C1 who have completed their Programme and whose data are still in the NASIMS Portal, would not continue to recieve Stipends.

The NASIMS Portal as at now is "insignificant" and seeing "shortlisted" or "Applicant" there does not make you an Npower beneficiary.

It has remained a fact that over 200,000 new Batch C2 Npower beneficiaries were recently shortlisted, however, those shortlisted beneficiaries were contacted through Text Message and Email, instructing them to confirm their Status and update their Account Information using the Npower Validation Form validation.nasims.ng, and "not through the NASIMS Portal".

But it has been observed that thousands of "Npower Applicants" who were not shortlisted and did not recieve Text Message or E-mail to fill the Npower Validation Form went ahead to fill their information, with hope of being paid through the process. This has caused a longer time in sorting valid Npower beneficiaries from the pool of Npower Applicants who have fed their data trickishly into the system.

As a matter of urgency, Npower Applicants who did not recieve Text Message or E-mail to fill the Npower Validation Form should desist from doing so. It is hindering the payment of Stipends to geniune beneficiaries.

2. Approved Fund:

While it is widely known that the past government approved payment of Stipends to Npower beneficiaries, it is not well known that only 3 Months Outstanding Stipends were Approved and Funds made available for the same three months.

However, this should not be a concern to Npower beneficiaries as more funds are waiting to be approved to enable payment of January, February, March, April, May and June Stipends to Batch C2 Npower beneficiaries.

As at now, the Payment of the three Months Stipends of October, November and December 2022 to Batch C2 Npower beneficiaries is ongoing.

Note that Payment of 3 months "benevolence package" to Batch C1 Npower beneficiaries has been suspended for now. The main priority is to clear the Batch C2 Outstanding Stipends of October, November and December 2022, which will pave way for the payment of January, February, March, April, May and June Stipends to the Batch C2 Npower beneficiaries.

3. Data Mismatch:

Some Npower beneficiaries have created mismatches between the information provided in the Validation Form and their original application details.

Some have have provided Bank Account Details different from those provided during application in 2020.

These discrepancies trigger additional validation processes, prolonging the time it takes to verify and approve payments. By this we mean, it will cause further delay in payment of Outstanding Stipends to such beneficiaries.

The Way Forward

To expedite the payment of your stipends, we recommend the following steps:

1. Patience: We understand the frustration caused by delayed payments, but it is crucial to remain patient and refrain from filling out the Npower Validation Form when you are not asked to do so. The Npower team is actively working to resolve the complications and clear the backlog.

2. Regular Updates: Stay informed by regularly checking official communication channels such as the Npower website and social media platforms. These channels will provide updates on the progress made in resolving the payment delays and will guide you on the appropriate actions to take.

3. Communication with Npower Support: If you have specific concerns or questions regarding your stipend payment or information provided, reach out to the Npower support team through the designated channels. They will provide you with accurate information and guidance on the next steps to follow.

4. Compliance with Guidelines: Ensure that you adhere to all program guidelines, fulfill your responsibilities, and submit any necessary documentation promptly. This will help streamline the verification and payment processes once the complications are resolved.

Conclusion

As an Npower applicant, your enthusiasm to participate in the Npower Programme and be recieving the N30,000 Monthly Stipend is completely understandable. However, filling out the Npower Validation Form at this time may exacerbate the existing complications and delay the payment process to geniune Npower beneficiaries even further. By staying patient, keeping yourself updated, and following the recommended steps, you can contribute to the smooth resolution of these issues.

Remember, the Npower team is actively working to address the payment delays, and your stipend will be disbursed once the complications are resolved. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Stay positive, and we wish you success in your participation in the Npower program!
