Ministry states Reasons for further Delay in Npower 9 Months Outstanding Stipend Payment

The Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation has stated reasons behind further delays in the payment of Npower Batch C2 9 months Outstanding Stipends.

The Ministry made the disclosure during a budgetary defence by the Director of Finance, National Social Investment Programme Agency,  (NSIPA).

According to the Ministry, N127 billion was mopped from the Ministry. The fund, the Ministry noted, was meant for the payment of Npower beneficiaries stipends, but was recovered from the Npower Payment Service provider who failed to pay the funds to the beneficiaries as at when due.

The Director giving a break down of the Npower Payment stated that all Batch C1 Npower beneficiaries received 15 months of stipends, of which  12 months Stipends were paid for the service year and 3 months paid as exit package.

All Batch C2 Npower beneficiaries received 3 months of stipend payment from October to December 2022, the Ministry noted, adding that only Batch C2 Npower beneficiaries are owed 9 Months Outstanding Stipends from January to September 2023.

The Ministry further disclosed that out of the 490,000 Batch C2 Npower Beneficiaries, only 440,000 Batch C2 Npower beneficiaries are eligible for the 9 months outstanding Stipends Payment.

The Ministry however has not fixed a new date for the payment of the Batch C2 Npower beneficiaries 9 Months Outstanding Stipends.
